    SNL Opening Skit

Anyone else see it last night?

    Pretty interesting.

It was SNL's version of "The Bachelor".

But, "rather than a couple breaking up, the show portrayed special counsel Robert Mueller breaking up with his collusion investigation."

That was how CNN described it.

They giving up on Russian collusion already?

I thought it was Jeff Sessions (the actress that plays him) talking with Hope Hicks (the actress that plays her). Sessions was saying to Hicks that she has to go after her testimony. She asks Session when is Trump going and he says he doesn't know yet, he says no collusion yet. There are easier crimes to prove. That's what I understood from the skit although I don't know why they (SNL) had the character of Jeff Sessions talking to Hicks?Maybe Alec Baldwin wasn't available to play Trump. I think the skit didn't hit the mark with Jeff Sessions character as we aren't aware they have had any kind of interaction in real life.

Now that I know it was suppose to be Robert Mueller the sketch makes a little more sense to me. Really though I think they have to get somebody else to play Mueller. The character looks the same as Sessions character and they used the same actress. She looks ridiculous given Mueller is almost 7 feet tall I think that's why until you just said it was suppose to be Mueller I didn't get it. SNL, get another actor for Mueller.
PS I don't watch the bachelor which probably is why I didn't get the whole skit from the get go.

SNL does a skit on Russian Collusion, so you think SNL is giving up on the Russian Collusion story?

I agree with you about getting someone else to play Mueller.

Kate McKinnon (I think is her name) is great at playing lots of characters, but she did not look good as Mueller.

I thought it was a strange skit...

Thought it was very creative. And some funny lines.

Agree that McKinnon was poorly cast for the part.

The selection of who got stage time for the overall show last night was untypical....

    No

President Donald Trump met with a lawyer who represented then-President Bill Clinton during the impeachment process and is talking with him about a role at the White House, The New York Times reported Saturday.

The Times, citing four people familiar with the matter, said Trump met with lawyer Emmet T. Flood in the Oval Office about joining the team as Trump and his allies continue to deal with the special counsel investigation led by former FBI Director Robert Mueller.

Two of the sources told the paper that no final decision had been made, and the Times said Flood joining the team would not replace White House lawyer Ty Cobb.

I thought it was a bit lame and confusing, especially with Mckinnon playing Mueller.

Sometimes SNL is the smartest, funniest, and most accurate political satire on any media.

    Maybe they think it's over.

Or, maybe they are just poking fun at the idea that it's over.

    Who knows...

Either way, it was a different way to open the show.

This was much better. We DVR the show (kids, ya know) and watch later. We always watch the opener and Weekend Update later...

    Thanks from Friday13 and BitterPill
