I want to know your definition.

According to the editorial, masculinity is a social construct from "thousands of years of the patriarchy".

There is a distinction between "masculinity" and "toxic masculinity."

I've been on a K-8 playground several times a day for nearly every school day in my eight year education career, and that has not been my experience.

you see if Toxic Masculinity had been in place the shooting would have been avoided, because the issue would have been dealt with 2-3 years ago.

Watch a girls team.. they will leave girls out.

You're really not paying attention to what I'm saying.

If masculinity is a social role--and it clearly is--then it's culturally constructed. Patriarchy is also a social construct, though not the same thing. And patriarchy didn't create masculinity anymore or less than masculinity made patriarchy.

Although this is correct it is nevertheless clearly nonsense only to think "male gender" could be something like a social construct. The two genders male and female are a natural fact - and completely independent from everything what we are thinking about. Nothing in context "gender" is something what human beings are deciding. "Social" in such a context could it be to speak about colonies of cells or about the ability of snails to change the own gender. All this is natural science and has absolutely nothing to do what has to do with the expression "social" in context of human societies. There are exactly 2 genders: male and female - in biology we are animals with an XX xor an XY Chromosome.

Men are by the way meanwhile for the species "homo sapiens" totally superfluous. Today women are able to get babies without men. Father may be another woman. Beause of the typical male attitude to go in war with weapons and to kill each other in masses some people also think men could have to two genders: male and idiot. But no none knows what's the real difference between "male" and "idiot" - seems to be the same gender.

Except for the people with a different chromosomal structure.
