    Apparently the two were real estate agents waiting for a friend. Some of the white customers have said that they never had the police called on them while they waited for someone else to arrive before ordering.
    Imagine that, democrats still showing how racists they are

    From the article

    ... the men asked to use the restroom but had not purchased anything. An employee said the Starbucks company policy was to refuse use of the bathrooms to nonpaying members of the public and asked the men to leave, according to Ross. The employee called the police when they refused.

    I had no idea every owner or manger of Starbucks was a Democrat. Is that on the franchise agreement or application to be manager?

    Certainly didn't look like they were resisting arrest though, and if asking people to leave the premises unless they make a purchase is store policy, then I'd say their policy is in dire need of review.

    Besides. I know that's bullshit. I've hardly ever even visited Starbucks, and I've seen people loitering in their stores. So, they only kick you out if you ask to use the restroom?

    Again nobody said they were resisting arrest, it was a trespassing issue after being asked to leave.
    I can speak from personal experience that it is a company policy and the reason is that many of them take up busy pieces of real estate and only want their restrooms to serve their employees. If truth be told they would go with one unisex room if bylaws permit. If no restrooms were required by law I doubt they would have even the one.

If it wasn’t necessary for that alone they probably wouldn’t have restrooms ar all.

    It's illegal not to provide public restrooms when you are serving food to the public. At least it used to be -- back when America was a free country*.

    * For white folks.

    I wouldn't be surprised if they hadn't been explicitly asked to leave.
    I was at a coffee shop one night. I'm just chilling out after work having a coffee. The barrista there was a really nice girl. I kind of wanted to go but stuck around because I didn't want to leave her with this other guy in the place. This guy just sitting at one of the tables. He looks like he hasn't changed his clothes or showered in a week. He's also nodding off and his speech is slurred. A druggie. So she goes over to him as is talking to him. She was asking him if he needed help with something. Now the subtext was pretty clear - she was asking him to leave. But she didn't explicitly say it and in his condition, he wasn't picking up on it.
    She goes behind the counter. I know she called the police and I know what she was hoping for was for a police officer to come in and quietly escort this young man off the premises. What happened next was a fire truck pulls up with the sirens flashing. Four burly paramedics come busting through the doors loudly asking what was going on. Then a cop joins him and they corner this kid and start grilling him. Long story short, he was messed up on something so they took him to a hospital without asking him if he wanted to go.
    Point being to all that is that the kind of people who work in coffee shops aren't necessarily the most confrontational people around.

    Point taken, but these gentlemen weren't drug addicts passing out in the corner.
