All the big players in our world are hypocrites this way. It is disgusting.
It may be "disgusting" but it's also normal.

    Some things never change...

It's alarming to see so many here take the Russian and Syrian side over that of the USA, Brittan, and France.
Yes, it was equally disheartening to see Republicans swoon over Putin ridding a horse shirtless while calling Obama a POS.

Bet your bottom dollar that Russia did no such thing.

    From your link:

The Russian military has claimed that the Syrian air [defenses], whose most modern weapon is a three-decades-old Russian-supplied anti-aircraft system, shot down 71 of 103 missiles fired by the US and its allies, the UK and France, a claim denied by the Pentagon....

The Assad Regime fired 40 defensive missiles at thin air in a failed attempt to save the three Syrian chemical weapons sites destroyed by allied air strikes, the Pentagon said.

A total of 105 missiles rained down on a research centre in Damascus as well as a storage site and a bunker 15 miles west of Homs at 4am Syrian time.

Britain launched eight Storm Shadow cruise missiles from the sky as the US and France provided support from the sea and jets.

France fired 12 cruise missiles, three from a frigate and nine from aircraft, while the US provided the bulk of the firepower with 85 missiles in total.

I do not trust either government.

Neither you nor I were there, so, again, who knows

Regardless, despite these strikes, Assad has apparently just forced the rebels out of yet another pocket:

BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:20 A.M.) – The rebels in the eastern Qalamoun region of Damascus have agreed to turn in their heavy weapons and to leave this area after a successful round of talks with the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Russian Reconciliation Centre.

According to the agreement, the rebel forces in the key town of Dumayr will begin leaving for northern Syria in the 48 hours.

The remaining rebels in the nearby towns of Al-Nassiriyah, Rahebah, and Jayroud are negotiating with the government currently, but they are expected to accept the agreement as well.

The rebel factions currently present in this part of the Qalamoun Mountains are the following: Ahmad Al-‘Abdo Brigade and and Jaysh Thuwar Al-Sham of the Free Syrian Army (FSA).
Breaking: Rebels agree to leave last bastion in east Damascus

Syria will be partitioned, I believe Putin & Erdogan have already decided on it. The rebels, and probably lots of the Sunni population along with them, will be displaced to the North, to Turkish-controlled Idlib, Afrin, and al Bab area. The Turks will likely use them against the Kurds, especially if Trump pulls support from them.

They have neighborhoods in Damascus, but they aren't a majority anywhere but Latakia. They are a very small minority in general. That's a big part of the problem over there. Minorities ruling over majority Sunnis. All of the Secret Police are alwawite, to ensure complete loyalty to Assad.

Why only chemical weapons though? Why is 'foaming at the mouth' worse than being blown up?

Tough. Maybe you're not seeing the big picture here. We are aiding terrorists when we strike Assad.

I know that. I said that. I've been saying it since 2011. The issue over there has never been what we were told. A popular uprising. a civil war. It's always been a proxy war waged by several outside countries, primarily Saudi Arabia. Also Turkey and Qatar, though off the top of my head I can't name the others, there were more.

It's also the same thing as Iraq: we never gave a shit before how Assad treated his people. Until he was politically important to us. Then we are all of a sudden bombarded with images from over there. I don't know how people fall for it over and over.

Chemical weapons are outlawed, and thus illegal.

Blowing people up with conventional weapons is still legal.

And, I heard that Assad was already back to bombing the rebels today.

With conventional weapons only, I assume...
