It is ironic, to see Russia portrayed as a defender of sovereignty lol

Basically, Russia and Us are two fucking hypocrites here...
Everyone is. On the most micro level even. In our HOA civil war, each side feels entitled to do as they please, never admit fault of their own, but throw poo on the other side.

All the big players in our world are hypocrites this way. It is disgusting.
Right, well that all depends on who one is allies with of course.

Intentionally killing civilians by any method is not legal. Some Syrians have had far worse deaths than by chemical weapons: starvation.

One town was without a single crumb of food or medical supply or anything for over one year. They ate all the animals, including their pets, all the grain, everything there was to eat, until only grass was left.

Starvation takes weeks of intense agony. One survivor who was close to death himself from it, and witnessed others, said it is so terrible that even the most evil human should never have to endure it. He said it will take your mind and your soul long before it takes your body. You will turn against your brother, anyone.

This is the sort of thing that the USG and other countries are partially responsible for aiding factions and keeping this war going for years longer than it should have.

    I don't disagree with that.

But...chemical weapons have been outlawed by the world.

Appealing to enforcement of international law rings hollow as an excuse for a military attack, while the United States simultaneously refuses to themselves be subject to international law.

I'm not in favor of chemical weapons, obviously. I just don't see why barrel bombing children is ok, but not sarin gas. And to be clear, barrel bombing kids is not ok at all.

Neither are American drone strikes that kill children.

The children are dead either way. In fact, more likely to survive a chlorine gas attack. I don't ever go so far as to say these attacks are staged, but it does look odd to me when Sarin is claimed and we see people simply being rinsed off. That isn't how sarin works. It's an inhalant.

Looks like they ain't scared of your "big, new, smart" missiles, orange monkey...

This is what you need to understand, my American friends. Your government is not one of the good guys over there. There are none, pretty much, they are all nasty characters, on all sides. But, your government is no better than Russia, in that war. In fact, Russia is there legally, on the invitation of the government, as is Iran. While the US, UK, and France, are Invaders. Kind of like Russians in East Ukraine. Your government is supporting terrorists in there. It just acted in support of the Saudi-backed "Army of Islam"; and it also supports Kurdish groups Turkey considers terrorists (not that the opinion of Turkey rates very highly with me, but, just, on principle, your government backs people another NATO country sees as terrorists, how fucked up is that?). And, again, your military just attacked a sovereign state for no good fucking reason.

It's fine. Yes, you guys have a big military with lots of toys, and they want to play with them.

Just, for God's sake, stop pretending you are better than anyone.

At least Russia got involved in Crimea and Donbass to help their blood kin. While America is over there, in Iraq and Syria, for nothing more than oil...
Sorry but last I checked, my Government wasn't gassing it's own citizens with chemical weapons...

So yes, in that respect my government is better than the Assad regime.

And there are plenty of Syrians who despise Assad and crave American intervention - many of them having been tortured by your "monkey" Assad.

And they should be scared of our big smart missiles because we could turn that hell hole into a crater with them if we wanted to - and that murdering monkey Assad is likely going to get another dose of them if he uses chemical weapons again. And your touted Russian air defense system did jack to stop them.

Which is basically what this amounts to - the US and its allies trying to bring at least some legitimacy to international law in a world too cowardly or indecisive to enforce its own laws.

I would agree with that if we didn't pick and choose based on who it is. As it stand, pfft.
