An expensive fireworks show on superficial targets that will have no impact on Assad’s power and will do nothing to impact the war.

It was done for the sole purpose of stoking their respective egos and giving the illusion they were doing something. It’s pointless, expensive and pathetic.

If Trump gave a remote fuck about the Syrian people he wouldn’t block them from seeking refuge or threaten to cut off their humanitarian aid.

In 2016, near the end of Barack Obama's presidency, the U.S. resettled 15,479 Syrian refugees, according to State Department figures. In 2017, the country let in 3,024. So far this year, that number is just 11. By comparison, over the same 3 1/2-month period in 2016, the U.S. accepted 790

I agree...let this one be Russia's turn. We should not be even in the ME at this point. Putin will pull out eventually when he realizes it is a waste of time.

How much aid do we give to how many countries which are not really our friend?

Think Pakistan as one example, which received $1.5 Billion last year according to one source.

This military strike is "crumbs" as Pelosi would say, compared to lots of other expenditures.
Well, that is bribery. They have nukes. We don't attack countries with nuclear weapons. If we want something they don't want to give, we bribe them. We want Pakistan to help us fight Taliban, among other things.

Americans work to hard for stupid expenses like this. The UK and France should have went in on this one alone...they have more skin in the game in Syria.
    How is that?

    Bribery works.

Been that way a long time, and I don't think it'll change anytime soon.

"WE don't attack countries that have nukes."
Does that not make obtaining nukes a VERY good idea for countries like North Korea and Iran?

We can't afford to allow other Countries to use the US as their world police anymore...I thought Trump campaigned on that. America First and all that. Instead, he wasted millions of dollars so he can puff out his chest. The only other Country that takes from the needs of their citizens to build a super power military is Russia and I would like to think we are different from that.
Where was this argument when we sent Iran 150 billion?
