It's not the teachers. It's the administrators and the union that supports those jobs.

We could play all teachers $100K a year with far better retirement, if we went to a proper voucher program.
What are some examples of indoctrination?

The CEA does not like a proposal to raise the retirement age from 58 to 65 in order to stabilize the Colorado Public Employees’ Retirement Association. Controversy with teacher pay in Colorado is not a new issue. According to the National Education Association, Colorado ranks 46th in teacher pay with the average making $46,000 a year. Some rural teachers make less than $30,000. For comparison, Wyoming teachers make an average of $58,000 a year.

I love the idea of teacher strikes. What other group has more leverage through a strike?

Kids have to stay home. Nobody in their right mind would scab as a teacher. It makes a state look really bad for both government and business.

I mean forcing kids to sit through Al Gore, Jr.'s movie each year Freshman - Senior. By the way, his movie... is not science.

I mean the teachers, administration, and school district supporting an anti-gun walk about, but refusing to do the same for anti-abortion.

Are you saying our high school curriculum implores grades 9-12 to watch "An Inconvenient Truth" each year? Do you have a link? Because my searches seem to turn up mostly blogs complaining about the film but I find no references to it being required as part of any states' curriculum. Maybe I missed it!

Are you saying that you would consider things good with schools if students were allowed to organize anti-abortion demonstrations?

Get rid of the public sector unions. Education would improve.

The sole purpose of public sector unions is to turn taxpayer's money into contributions to Democrats.

    Very excellent point!!

And one of the big selling points of legalizing marijuana in Colorado was all the tax revenue it would generate.

And that indoctrination all surely starts with the Pledge of Allegiance.

When I was ten, I started going to school in Mexico, and, wouldn't you know it, there came a time when everyone was expected to pledge allegiance to Mexico, but I was quickly hip to the situation, and while I joined my classmates in pledging allegiance to Mexico, we put our right hands above our hearts and not over them, I kept the fingers on my left hand crossed.
