Back in the day, back home in Virginia it was: First On Race Day. But that was also when the NASCAR line was: Win on Sunday, sell on Monday.

I love my Honda Accord too!! She is getting old, but I have never had a problem with her. Honda uses good paint...she still looks the same as the day I drove her off the lot. Mine is a Sport Coup. I got a little sticker shock at the car show a couple of months ago. I saw big trucks range from 48K to 75K. I just can't put my head around buying a car for the same price I could purchase a rental property...which would make me money.

But agree, a lot of people are going to like that.
I have had a couple of Mustangs over the years and they were crap. The other thing, they do not drive well in snow. Fish tail all over the place.

Same here!! I have been car payment free for awhile now and I LOVE IT. I leased for a long time and got a new car every 3 years until I leased my Accord. I just could not turn her back in...she is a fun car to drive. I just bought out the lease and she has a forever home now. We had a CRV once, and a deer attacked it. LOL I liked that car but it never drove the same after the deer attack.

Of course they will. Ford just retired from competing for a huge segment of the auto market. Not sure why, they're smaller cars were actually improving. One of my sons had had a Ford Fusion for a couple of years and loves it.

I got lucky with my new car purchase. My hubby also owns a VM. He's going for the "fix" though. Between the two of us with the payouts, I basically got a new car for 3K. We keep our cars for about 10 years. I only got a new one because I HAD to. The fix would of messed up everything I loved about my previous car - had it for 9 years.

So no car payment but I'm NEVER going to get that kind of deal again, darn it!!!

Kids won't walk or ride bikes any more. I routinely walked about 1 1/2 miles each way to school every day. No big deal, a lot of us did.
Parents are so paranoid they will hardly let their kids out of their sight. Weird times we live in.

So, what did people do 40 years ago?
