Drunken OK man playing with his new gun fires 30rounds--hits a baby crib 1/2 mi away!

Gotta love those law abiding sensible gun owners. Mommy thought the messed up rung of the baby's crib was from the baby teething.

You know, you just can't make this shit up.

Oklahoma man drunkenly fires off 30 rounds from newly purchased gun — and hits baby’s crib a half mile away

An Oklahoma man drunkenly celebrated the purchase of a new gun by shooting off dozens of rounds, police say — and one of those bullets may have struck a baby’s crib a half mile away.

Andrea Johnson heard a loud noise outside her Moore home about 1:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, but she was unable to determine its cause until the following day after going into her baby son’s bedroom, reported KFOR-TV.

“I saw this piece of wood that was kind of messed up in the bar of his crib,” Johnson said. “I thought it was kind of funny. Well, he is teething, maybe he had chewed on it, maybe he ninja-kicked it in his sleep — he kicks a lot.” Johnson, whose husband was away at the time serving in the U.S. Army Reserves, tried to find the rest of the wood chips so her 18-month-old son, Axel, couldn’t put them in his mouth.

“When I pulled his crib back is when I saw something on the ground, bent down, picked it up and realized it was a bullet — and that’s when I just absolutely lost it,” Johnson said. Police said the bullet pierced an outside wall, the living room ceiling, a second interior wall and finally was stopped by the crib bar....

Idiots like that should have their guns confiscated and serve jail time.

Someone once fired a rifle in the air and hit a spectator in the eye at a football game a mile away.

We have a 40' backyard, then a cart path, the fairway of the 17th hole of a golf course, a berm and a 2 lane road. Beyond that is a strip of land along a canal with houses along the canal. The idiots along that stretch of the waterway shoot guns not infrequently. Since I don't want have to do the math of trajectory of all possible firearms these 'neighbors' might be shooting with from/to our backporch, I have on several occasions gotten off the back porch when the fucking idiots were 'playing with their guns'.

I think bullets would have to travel some distance BUT the water distorts the sound. It's just easier to go inside.

I'll tell you something you won't believe. I have neighbors target practicing facing a high school about 400 yds away. There is woods between them but not much.

Can anyone HAVE GUNS that close to a school? I think even WE have laws about that. Doesn't mean they abide by them but I think there are ordinances about distances.

Gun owners do UNSENSIBLE shit all of the time--everyday around the country. Which is why KIDS get shot by Daddy's, Mommy's and uncle Billy's guns. The fucking idiots in the Florida state LEGISLATURE told FLORIDA pediatric physicians they were PROHIBITED from asking whether there are guns in the house. It got overturned fairly recently (it wended it's way through the courts by NRA challenges for 6 YEARS). I believe it was found unconstitutional based on doctors FIRST AMENDMENT rights. Ironically, not on children's safety!

IDIOTS!! The NRA, the gun owners and the legislature. Doc's can ask if you have a dog, a pool in the backyard (those have MANDATED lockable enclosures), child safety seats, but they couldn't ask about a gun!

    Yeah, I found it...

A federal appeals court says doctors in Florida must be allowed to discuss guns with their patients, striking down portions of a Florida law that restricts what physicians can say to patients about firearm ownership.

In a 10-1 decision, the full panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals found that the law, known as the Privacy of Firearm Owners act, violates the First Amendment rights of doctors.

Without his having a gun that would have never happened. A knife, for instance, would not have reached anywhere near that far nor penetrated the way the bullet did. While there are those who say that guns don't kill people that people kill people, without having a gun there would be no killing in that manner to speak of nor a potential killing as in this case.

You mean you can't throw a knife 1/2 of a mile?

    Come on, really?
