It's called pragmatism. Like I asked in the other thread - What is the advantage of moving the embassy to Jerusalem?

And "why shouldn't we?" is not an "advantage." What is the actual advantage?

50+ Hamas terrorists martyred themselves over it in a temper tantrum.

The advantage? We have our embassy in the capital city of the country. We are telling the world that we recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. We are also sending a message that we aren't going to cower to the Palestinians. If they don't like it, too bad.

It's not like we normally have our Embassies in the capital of other countries, right?

    Ask Tonga.

    Or Seychelles.

    Or Maldives.

Is your point that we should not recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel?

Honest question: Are those analogous situations?

Is that what you think it means when a country puts their embassy in a city that isn't the capital? That the capital isn't being recognized? I mean there are people who put the idiotic theory forth here that not placing a capital in Jerusalem means Israel is being denied their sovereignty.

I'm asking because those are just three of the countries who have their embassies in our country in New York City and not Washington D.C. ...and if mother fucking Tonga is questioning our sovereignty, we need to attack them right fucking now.
    Thanks from Paris and Dragonfly5

In this case, that is what it means. I am sure that you are aware that some of the world refuses to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Every square is a rectangle but not every rectangle is a square.

Are you pissed off that Seychelles isn't recognizing Washington DC as our capital?
