But thats dangerous as it leaves a potential vacuum. Who knows who would wrestle power in the chaos?

We'd have to make some serious structural changes in our form of government in order to have more than just the two parties. Simply saying blow them both up is no solution. It does nothing to address the problem.

You are missing my point. IDC who it is. As long as its not our duopoly.
Both parties are a cancer and neither one cares about us.

he should be allowed to run if that's what he wants. This still is America. But, if he does, he shouldn't be allowed to run free and easy like last time. One of the problems with HRC is all her baggage. Because of that she agreed to go easy on Bernie. Big mistake. She should have went at him with all she had. That way, all of her baggage would have be litigated during the primary. JMO. The Democrats need to stop playing nice with Sanders. He's not playing nice with them. So, why should they keep allowing him to screw them over without a fight?
Thanks from Babba, Ian Jeffrey and Friday13

Well, the adults care and don't want the chaos that would ensue if we just blow them up.

I read back when Perez was selected head of the DNC that he was selected mostly by Sanders people and that he and Ellison will "help" Sanders should he decide to run in 2020 since he and his supporters feel they got screwed in the 2016 primaries. Now I dont know what that means but I guess the DNC did change their superdelegates and the system they use. So I am not sure if I agree with that but certainly Bernie is out there getting the most name recognition, far more than anyone else at this point.

That point is irrelevant to Bajisima's and Babba's, however. We cannot simply "get rid of" political parties - any or all of them. It would be politically and constitutionally impossible, as well as (like Bajisima says) ultimately undesirable, no matter how emotionally satisfying it may be to say so.

I do think its possible for parties to change over a longer period of time or maybe even new ones to start. But that process would take decades and decades, not one or two election cycles. Thats dangerous.
