You can thank Obama for his hesitation.
Really? What does Obama have to do with your made up scenario?

Why it matters: This is a dramatic change in tone from North Korea, which recently released three U.S. prisoners and began dismantling a nuclear test site as part of efforts to lay the groundwork for talks with Trump.

    North Korea moving the goalpost?

    I’m SHOCKED!
I am shocked out of my shoes, who would have thunk?

There seems to be a pretty big problem with blowing up the Nuclear site, too.

This sure appears to be a case where Kim Jong-un is having second thoughts about the possibility of being seen as weak if he gives in to any U.S. demands during the talks. He obviously wants to maintain his power. So, anything that can be used to cancel the meeting might be tried just to get out of it. Many saw this not as a feasible move for the two enemy countries to talk due to so many variables involved.

When dealing with Asia, one must always remember that an Asian politician or businessman cannot be seen to lose 'face'. Sometimes, ridiculous decisions will be made simply in order to keep 'face'.

Even if we go back to square one with N Korea, and nothing else happens, we got three hostages out.

At least that is a plus.

Lil Kim could change his mind several more times between now and June 12th.

No one wants the peace talks to fail. Trump supporters can expect some teasing though, because all Trump had to do was mention NK, and his supporters were already spiking the football. Don't be surprised if Trump gets played here. NK has demonstrated over the decades that it can play nice when it wants to, while doing what it wants in the shadows. They have done that through both Dem and Rep administrations. "Bigger Button" Trump has not done anything that we have seen to bridge our differences. The thing of most significance that has happened is that they destroyed their own test site. Right after that, they suddenly started acting approachable.

To me, their history tells us they are gonna play nice to ease the sanctions, so that they can more quickly afford to rebuild their test site. But we'll see... not like I'm a foreign policy expert either. I truly hope Trump's team succeeds... but I suggest you save the football spiking for later.
