De Niro says "#%$& Trump" on the Tonys

Yes. I agree. Time to stand up and fight him.

Actor Robert De Niro repeatedly declared “F— Trump” while speaking onstage at the Tony Awards on Sunday night, and promptly received a standing ovation.
The profanity was bleeped out in the live broadcast, but tweets from attendees and reporters confirmed De Niro’s remarks.
“I’m going to say one thing: ‘F— Trump,’” said the actor, who was presenting an award at the ceremony. “It’s no longer ‘down with Trump,' it’s ‘f— Trump.’”
The audience then erupted in cheers and stood clapping.

amen. Way to go De Niro.
Let's not allow people to tell us we're not allowed to be outraged.

I agree with his sentiment but all this does is signal to Trump's hard core base that they have been right about the "Hollywood" elite all along.

    FUCK YEAH!

Sorry. <ahem> I was just a little enthused there.

I just posted a new thread that has me torn between full-throated rage, and tears.

All I really want to say right now is this. This is not about party, this is about country. And ahead of country, this is about humanity. We have someone at the helm that does not give shit #1 about people. He is alienating our allies, and cozying up with our enemies. He is despicable, and I rightly despise him. And if you bring up Hillary one more time, I'm going to put a curse on you that involves crotch rot and bad breath.

It's going to matter in the mid-terms.

I agree with everything you posted in post #5 - real Americans who care about this country would not be voting for him at all

But there is that small sub-set that no matter how truly awful he is and continues to be , they will support him no matter what.

Seen a few here. Anything that pisses off the "libs" is what they like about him even when is he literally destroying this country and all that we stand for.

    Party over country for them.

I think we better care come 2020. Statements like this just give Trump fodder at his rallies. I have the same sentiment but I can't imagine how one would work in a statement about Trump at the Tony Awards. It is ignorant.

And that's fine. But I refuse to comport myself in such a matter so as to attempt to placate them.

See - here's the thing. You're under the impression that they could despise us more, that they could be more staunch in their hate. I believe we're already there.

In addition, I'm literally incapable of not announcing the end of the world as we know it.

Thanks from Friday13, Panzareta and steezer
