So what was accomplished? The two men met and promises were made. They have made promises before and neither man can be trusted. Big propoganda show with ZERO substance.

    But of course,,how pathetic.

One interesting omission from the statement -- it mentioned "complete denuclearization," but not the other two parts of the "CVID" favored by U.S. officials: Verifiable, and irreversible. North Korea's preferred language has always been the former. It's another sign Kim got his way on at least part of the document.

Saw the former ambassador to South Korea on tv. He's right. Kim is never going to give up his nukes.

But now Kim got all the validation he craved.

Coming up on the one year anniversary of the "release" of Otto Warmbier - remember him?

Not one mention of human rights violations either...

    Full Statement released

    1. The United States and the DPRK commit to establish new U.S.-DPRK relations in accordance with the desire of the peoples of the two countries for peace and prosperity.

    2. The United States and the DPRK will join their efforts to build a lasting and stable peace regime on the Korean Peninsula.

    3. Reaffirming the April 27, 2018 Panmunjom Declaration, the DPRK commits to work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

    4. The United States and the DPRK commit to recovering POW/MIA remains, including the immediate repatriation of those already identified.

So..a bunch of...nothing concrete at all.

    Yep, a "meet and greet".

Here's a snippet from 1993. Bill Clinton got as much from Kim's daddy with only an Assistant Secretary of State meeting.

Once more, Trump is scamming some of us.

This was the first meeting...umm, well...ever of the leaders of our two countries. Did you think everything would be all "good to go" today?

Kim got validation from the President of the USA, and Trump got a rehash of a commitment from 28 years ago.

Well Kim "won" . A meeting with POTUS. That's all he ever wanted.

I hope going forward it does do some good - because it would be good for our country.

But in addition to Clinton, something very similar played out under GWB. And obviously both ended up being no-go's in the end.

But Clinton and Bush were smart enough NOT to take Kim up on his "invitation" to meet face to face.

True. It was six nation talks or nothing. Where did that get us? Oh wait...that's right, it got us a nuclear armed NK.

This is not our first Rodeo. There are months if not years of work ahead.

A meeting and a handshake is meaningless unless the two sides comply with what the other wants.

The meeting was a total success. The two men met.

I'll give you a clue as to when you can start to get all giddy...is when you see actual UN Atomic inspectors on ground in NK with unfettered access to inspect the NK nuclear program.
