    Trump-Kim meeting live updates

France's Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian has said he will be the first one to applaud Donald Trump and North Korea's Kim Jong-un if they reach a deal on nuclear weapons disarmament of the Korean Peninsula.
Mr Le Drian said that "everything that has to do with disarmament is positive."

The French foreign minister met on Monday with his Swedish counterpart Margot Wallstrom in Stockholm. Mr Le Drian cautioned "we have been enthusiastic before and it has led to failures."
Mr Wallstrom hosted talks in March with North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho in Stockholm. She said one should be prepared for both "a fruitful meeting and a failure."

Some pictures are coming in from Kim Jong-un's short trip out of his hotel. He was said to have been greeted by chants of his name at points.

kim un.jpgMr Kim is taking his evening stroll, with his first destination a waterfront park with futuristic installations, Gardens by the Bay, which boasts the largest glass greenhouse and tallest indoor waterfall in the world.Police and onlookers were also seen gathering outside the Marina Bay Sands hotel - a place Kim Jong-un's half-brother Kim Jong-nam had visited on a number of occasions.https://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...-a8392686.html
This is a historic Summit between the United States and North Korea. The goal is peace thru denuclearization of North Korea. Feel Free to post any updates as they come in.

if Trump can get Kim to getting rid of his nukes I'll be the first to give him credit. But, it's still disappointing that Trump doesn't seem to care about human rights violations in NK. I don't agree with the administrations stance on that. Trump got Kim to back down by threatening not to have the talks. He should make human rights a part of deal. It's probably more likely to succeed than Kim following through with denuclearization anyway.

When Kim and Trump meet, what do people predict the negative left are going to come out with?

most I've seen are hoping he's successful.

The negative left? LoL Slart .. you're somethin' else dude. My prediction - Kim has already won by getting a meeting and photo-op with the leader of the free world.

I hope he succeeds as do most and will give him his due if he does. Trump will probably CLAIM victory - but their ain't no way Baby Kim is givin' up his nukes or allowing for inspections.

He'll stop testing though - No more need on that. He's a nuclear power who wants respect. And Trump is giving it to him .. in spades.

Nobody gives up their nukes. And someday, somewhere, somebody will be using them.

kinda weird watching the coverage. The US doesn't have any control over the images. So, we're seeing mostly empty streets , no pedestrians, buildings and such. For some reason about a hour ago we were seeing cars parked in front of the entrance of a building. Guess either waiting for Trump or Kim to emerge. Myself, I think the major networks are getting the coverage all wrong. They're trying to sensationalize the event. But, it's not really all that exciting. Rather, has the feel of watching a golf match.

The meeting is only scheduled to be 45 minutes long. I doubt this "summit" is anything more than a "meet and greet"

But yes, Kim is the winner here. Getting the national attention he has always craved.

Your spot on about the human right violations btw.

LMAO....Brian Williams is at least trying to interject some humor in the images they're getting.
