    you were the one asking for a legal justification. All I said is that they should object. If they don't agree with Sessions interpretation they can make their objections known. That's called "freedom of speech". Why wouldn't they be able to do that?

    No. We are trying to figure out how that applies to this case. I am still not sure, but it seems like a tangent, so I will just take your word for it.

    The courts do not get a say unless a case is brought before them - in which event they need a legal justification for their decision. The (federal) courts are constitutionally prohibited from issuing advisory opinions. In political matters, the courts do not get a say, so unless there is something illegal or unconstitutional going on here - and there is no evidence that there is - there would not even be a case that could be brought.
