He is the one who had the right de-escalation strategy when Trump and Kim both blew up their war rhetoric.. calling each other childish names and openly talking military action against one another.

Moon should get that price, disregarding what comes of it long term, because he actually and successfully brought those two at a table, taking away some imminent escalation threats.
I would agree to that. South Korea also has the most to lose if NK gets PO'ed and starts lobbing nukes or invading any neighbors, but aren't we all getting a bit in front of ourselves when nothing really has occurred beyond what has occurred before, except a face to face meeting with a POTUS? Since when have the leaders of NK since the war, been known to be good for their word? By the same token consider our own POTUS, when it comes to all the "best people" he hires......then assassinates via Twitter?

When are we going to see those tax returns Mr. Trump? Did Kim Jong-un get a check for $130,000, maybe more to show up for photo ops? When will the fuzziness on some facts and figures on all kinds of things involving these two leaders and their "business", be cleared up?

With some people, their promises are the opposite of what women worry about when having sex and not wanting to get pregnant. Instead of broken promises to pull out before........ These two leaders appear to have track records of broken promises to stick with their deals (stay in)....unless there's something in it for them personally, not for their nations or their people.

Where is Obama mentioned in the OP? Is Obama the POTUS now? If you are talking relevancy, please compare, in detail. And why are you ignoring that the nomination is not related to actually being deserving of.

In all honesty, I am not certain why Obama was awarded the prize so soon after being elected and be may not have been certain about that either, other than he may have received it to serve more than one purpose, one as a relief from America using unilateral decisions to invade sovereign nations, especially those that had no relationship to 9/11 attacks and two, to provide a motivation to stay on track with the reasons he was awarded the prize, which in many ways he did, even if it meant great difficulties in ending a war, entered into, by his predecessor.

"extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples". In contrast to his predecessor and his successor, there are cases to be made for that explanation.

I would say the following is not going to be tossed out of consideration, when it comes to Trump's methods of "international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples", but anything is possible, like Christians who obsess over homosexuals, electing a greedy, gluttonous, narcissistic, lying, adulterer to be POTUS.

It might also be just a little difficult to award the peace prize to a man who has done his level best to destroy the legacy and work of his predecessor, a man who was not only nominated for the prize, but WAS chosen to receive it.

What would Trump get a Nobel Peace Prize FOR exactly ...

Pissing off all our allies while dropping his pants for a murderous dictator?

The 2009 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to United States President Barack Obama for his "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".[1] The Norwegian Nobel Committee announced the award on October 9, 2009, citing Obama's promotion of nuclear nonproliferation[2] and a "new climate" in international relations fostered by Obama, especially in reaching out to the Muslim world[3][4]

Not at all anything that Trump could run on..

Whereas, if fostering a "bad" new climate in international relations would qualify, he'd be the leader of the pack, absolutely.

Whereas, if promoting actual expansion and PROliferation of nuclear weapons would qualify, he'd be the leader of the pack, absolutely.

Whereas, if trying to shut out the Muslim world would qualify, he'd be the leader of the pack, absolutely.
