He is the one who had the right de-escalation strategy when Trump and Kim both blew up their war rhetoric.. calling each other childish names and openly talking military action against one another.

Moon should get that price, disregarding what comes of it long term, because he actually and successfully brought those two at a table, taking away some imminent escalation threats.

Agreed. Moon has been the real motivator here and kudos to him for his efforts.

At this moment in history, I think South Korea is pretty lucky to have come up with a leader like that.

    Here's what I got:

Obama "won" the NP Prize about the same time he was sending 30,000 additional troops halfway around the world to kill people.

    I'd say that's a bit of a contradiction, wouldn't you?

U.S. President Donald Trump was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in reaching an agreement to work toward de-nuclearization of the Korean peninsula.

The U.S leader was nominated by two members of Norway’s governing Progress Party, according to state broadcaster NRK. The deadline for this year’s prize passed in January, so this nomination would make him eligible for next year. It is unclear whether he was nominated for this year’s prize.

Well, it came from direct from Norway who smartly got in front of this train. This ought to be interesting.

I am curious if others thing he should get the prize, and how his work compares to that of other recent recipients.
Right-wing Norwegian law-makers make a practice of using nominations to troll the liberals in their country, fully aware that their picks are going nowhere.... but, it gives Americans conservatives a thrill, so I guess there's that.

They'd be willing to nominate Sheriff Joe Arpaio and/or Ted Nugent for the Nobel Peace Prize if they weren't just smart enough to realize that it would cause folks to erupt in gales of laughter and guffaws.

You asked what specifically he got the price for.. I cited for you with the committee's official reasoning.

You come up with your opinion and co-incidental events at the time of the announcement to be the actual "reason" for why he got the price. It's silly. It's useless. It shows that you were not even interested in the reason for him getting the price to begin with.

Coming up with a tag line, ignoring all the decision making and mulling over, involvement of experts and having been a President who was willing to get convinced by experts and advisors, after strong, intense and painful deliberation, about some potentially necessary and helpful measures in a losing matter whichever decision he would have taken, making a decision based on best possible available information and strategy, even if it goes against his initial gut and personal wanting to pull out of Afghanistan immediately.. you make that a reason to hate on him. You're beyond approach.

I predicted a while back that Trump would be nominated for the Nobel. It was just too precious to not look in and see the blithering denials from the leftists here.

A record 330 people were nominated this year

While the Norwegian Nobel committee is appointed by parliament, it’s decisions are independent. Trump was nominated by two right-wing members of Norway’s Progress Party, which advocates for limited immigration and lower taxes.

So I'm kind of thinking Trump will be a real "dark horse" here.

Especially in light of the fact that got basically nothing from Kim at the Summit.
There is no way he will ever get the prize, Europeans hate his guts and would never give him anything like this, ever. Trump is dreaming of being Obama but he will never, ever pull it off, he is simply too stupid and undisciplined.
