I know it is a long shot to be approved by Congress. But, there are far too many disenfranchised Californians who have lost Bill of Rights protections and who are still considering moving from our over taxed, under represented state.
    See ya!

I predict Crusher will do best in South Carolina. Shall we start a go-fund-me drive?

Nope. Neither Southern nor Central California can make it without Northern California water.

What constituencies does this proposal have? Who benefits?

The State of Jefferson people won't like it because it leaves them stuck with San Francisco. Do San Diego and Orange County want to be cleft from LA and joined to Fresno? You can't even drive from Fresno to OC/SD without going through LA county or right next to the Arizona line.

It's better than the guy's last proposal, and we'll get lots of opportunities to fight over it.

It's not going to pass, but shit like this has turned me against California's proposition process. I never sign those petitions anymore, and when I found one petitioner pushing Calexit last year, I stuck around and ruined his gig. Poor dude had to leave and find another supermarket to vex.

    Very true.

Those legal battles have been ongoing for a long time.

    Or their weed.

According to the BBC website, this is the proposed split.

State of Jefferson is all about rural California. They don't want the Bay Area. They think the Bay Area is the source of all their problems. From a point north of Sonoma, spreading up the coast and directly east, that sentiment is long-standing. Up and down the Central Valley you find pockets of secessionists who don't get that their public services depend on taxes of economic activity, which is centered in population-dense areas. They think they can save enough money not taking care of SF priorities that they'll be ahead. I doubt that.

Why would you be surprised? Stupids rarely stop being stupid and that especially includes the State of Jefferson idiots which is what the Tea Party morphed into in this state.
    Thanks from Friday13
