How else has it been defined?

Gtfottahere. Normal people have to do that all the time. Sorry you have to live like pleb
Foot note: All lawyers say that.

The attorney described what he meant by solitary confinement in the filing-that he was being kept in a cell except when meeting his attorneys.

In this high profile of a case, and since the attorney is arguing why Manafort should be released from jail all together, if he was receiving any of the other treatment it would absolutely be in the filing as a reason for why he should be released.

The special counsel has to submit their reply by the 5th, so we will find out either way in the next few days

Well, I don’t think it’s like Sophia in Orange is the New Black. I’m sure he has all the creature comforts he needs. Frankly, if I were in prison I would want to be in solitary because I would be scared shitless and I didn’t even do anything to offend everybody!

I agree. This is more of a safety issue rather than a punishment. He hasn't even been convicted yet. I'm sure as well, he is being looked after and he will receive a pardon from Trump if he keeps his mouth shut. I feel the same as you. If I were in prison, I would beg for solitary confinement. I wouldn't want to make friends with people in general population.

I'm sure you are right because Manafort is a rich white guy. I guess I was projecting my feelings about Kaleif Browder who was also put in solitary confinement for "his own good" but who later committed suicide because he spent so much time in solitary confinement even though he was innocent of the crime he never was convicted of because his case never went to trial. I'll do better next time.

You guys say that at first, but being away from other humans, no matter how bad you perceive them to be, has seriously psychological effects in people. You would lose your shit sooner than you think.

And prison isn’t like the movies.

You mean well TR. You have a big heart are consistent in your beliefs.

If I thought there was a chance he was in real deal solitary I would be with you 100. No one should be put through that. It’s straight up psychological torture. Kaleif Browder is just one example of an all too common occurrence in our fucked up justice system

I'm assuming 'solitary confinement' is NOT like it was in the movie 'The Shawshank Redemption'. Yes, we have a thing called the Eighth Amendment, banning cruel and unusual punishment. Like you, I would like to know what CONDITIONS he is being held under. If he has TV, reading material, room to move around, and is not being held in 80 degree heat, I think I'm pretty OK with it.
