    Paul Manafort in Solitary Confinement

Paul Manafort has been put in “solitary confinement” according to John Dowd, his friend and President Donald Trump‘s former lawyer.Trump’s jowly ex-attorney on the Russia investigation told Fox Newsthat after Manafort’s $10 million bail was revoked, he was put “in solitary confinement for his own safety from the general prison population.”

This is wrong. It is barbaric and it needs to end. I don't care how you feel about Paul Manafort and what lead to the revocation of his bail, the United States of America should not be putting people who have not been found guilty of a crime in solitary confinement. This is a crime against humanity and we need to take a stand.

He is a middle-aged upper-class white guy. In a US prison, solitary probably IS the safest place fir him...

As long as they're allowing him out for exercise periods, and as long as he has access to a TV, and to reading material, this probably IS for his own safety......

If he is apart from others, but has access to books, television, etc., I'm sort of okay with that. If he is being held in traditional solitary - no access to anything but an empty cell that is lit 24 hours a day and getting food through a slot, then NO, it's wrong.
Thanks from BigLeRoy, jacobfitcher and boontito

Agreed. But I want verification of that. Otherwise, he is being held in inhumane conditions and something needs to be done.

Because we have this thing in our country called "due process" and he hasn't been found guilty of any crime. This is wrong. I am angry and I demand to know the conditions under which Manafort is being held. No one who has not been found guilty of a crime, and even many of those who have been found guilty, deserve solitary confinement.

Solitary confinement is cruel and unusual punishment no matter who it is against.

You're an idiot if that's what you're taking away from this. There is seriously no hope for you.
