So you agree with me that the Second Amendment would allow for laws that require people to secure their weapons so they do not accidentally cause harm and aren't stolen by those who use them to commit crimes?

I believe there are laws about unsecured weapons in every state.

Here's yet another very tragic occurrence concerning guns. America has not yet learned to keep dangerous weapons like that out of a child's sight and reach. There is absolutely no excuse for this innocent child dying. Absolutely None!
Meh, just a clump of cells.

It absolutely is gun violence. A gunshot wound to the head is violence, and it involves a gun. That makes it gun violence. How ridiculous for you to say this.

Really? Why are the gun owners in these cases (and there are lots of similar cases) never charged?

Laws about securing guns usually apply only when those guns are being transported--not when they are simply in one's home.
    Thanks from Friday13

    Of course.

As I stated there are laws in all states I believe about unsecured firearms.

    The parents should be charged.

But, this happened in California so the charges will depend on race, ethnicity, and legal status.

But, .... they should be charged.

This is why I support mandatory gun safety glasses before you purchase your gun...there are too many ignorant people buying them currently. The parents should be charged with negligent homicide in this case.

Have a link to show that these parents aren't going to be charged?

I think you are making a false assumption.
