I do agree with Trump that the other countries need to pay their share of Military. This has been going on since the Marshall plan after WW2, and all those countries have taken advantage.

On the day before Trump's election, point the finger anyway you want, but suffice it to say, as far as I'm concerned that they are jointly and severally liable for what? $20tn and a state of perpetual war. Where was Trump? Building buildings. Where was McCain? Sending our children off to die in needless wars. Trust me, we need more Trumps in this world than McCains. At his core, Donald Trump is a builder, he definitely wants his name on those buildings like Rockefeller, Chase, Helmsley, etc who came before him, but ultimately he is impelled to build. John McCain, at his core, is a soldier, nothing wrong with that, we do need soldiers of course, but he is impelled to fight.

The business of America is business; not war.

European defense spending is 100% rational even if we assume the US left Europe. There really is no reason for them to spend more now. As it is they vastly outgun and outspend Russia.

US sends special forces to RUSSIAN BORDER as NATO is poised to strike back against Vladimir Putin’s ‘aggression’

Trump wants to open the door and invite Putin in. NATO transcends the shortsightedness of one bad US leader.
That's neocon, NWO thinking right there. But for Team America: World Police, the US would not be able to engage the rest of the world in trade, right? Palpably ridiculous and Europe itself is the proof.

Crimea is not our problem and that issue says nothing about continued US involvement in NATO because Russia annexed the Crimea with the US in NATO.....anyway.

Agreed in principle. That’s the catch 22 with President Trumps bombastic style. He isn’t wrong in this case, but the message gets lost in verbosity.

This is how you know NATO has jumped the shark. They not only have the resources to meet their military capabilities, they're throwing money around they obviously don't need to spend on 'military' to build world class corporate style campuses.

Trump even noted the building and he knew on sight that the cost of it was ridiculous. Basically he said, 'look at this building, god only knows what this thing costs'

And this is how you know when bureacracies completely out of control, they make no pretense about the resources they're wasting.

I think America is suffering from a bad case of imperial overstretch. McCain would disagree with that. And yet I certainly think that NATO is still necessary. Russia has retreated, publius3 also says. Well, the Soviet Empire obviously collapsed, but Vladimir Putin is on record as saying that was the "biggest geopolitical catastrophe of the 20th century", and there is NO reason to doubt that he believes exactly that. Russia today is a revanchist power. The lashing out of a dying empire is an exceptionally dangerous thing, and especially under a hyper-aggressive leader such as Putin. He wants very much to resurrect if not the Soviet Empire, at least the old Czarist Empire. Putin has recently achieved one of the most cherished strategic objectives of Czarist Russia, of obtaining a permanent base in the Mediterranean, with his new Syrian client state, and Trump is helping him with that. Some will object that Syria is not a 'new' client state of Russia, but Syria is now more firmly in the grip of Russia than ever before. Assad owes his entire existence, his very life, to Russia.
I agree with all of that.

At this point I have upset a lot of Democrats, but listened to the clip of Trump and the German 3 times this morning to verify what I heard.

Trump is right that we are providing security to these Countries while they invest in their own Countries!

This has been ongoing since the Marshall Plan after WW2! While we poured more money into those Countries protection they have not given their share.

The Russian said, the pipeline deal with Russia was before his time and he had been fighting it since taking office.

Trump is an ignorant bully, but if Democrats do not wake up,realize where this anger that gave us Trump is coming from we are going to lose again!

Bad Trade bills, starting with NAFTA, cheating by other Countries while our Government does nothing has created an anger that gave us Trump!

Until we understand that, Democrats are going to lose.

The party has developed a victim, Special Interest Party. We need to deal with it, instead of going off at Republicans and Trump! We are feeding them.
    Thanks from publius3 and bajisima
