My admiration for him stems from my interest in geopolitics, so the foreign policy aspect guides my bias.

The jury is still out on Trump but he's looking good.
I don't understand Nixon and Ford being in there. I know Nixon's best move was China however his baggage alone would be hard to rank him in the best but Ford? I would have thought no one would put Ford on the list but we are all different.

I will downgrade Bill Clinton for three primary reasons: (1) He really did tarnish the Oval Office with his unseemly behavior with Monica Lewinsky. Congress should have censured him for that; that would have been a permanent stain on his Presidency, as no President has ever been censured by Congress; (2) Towards the end of his Presidency, Clinton took some unwise financial actions that helped to set the stage for the massive financial bubble that developed in the 2000's; and (3) his non-actions during the horrific Rwandan genocide of 1994, which Clinton even REFUSED to call a genocide while it was going on---I believe the whole thing could have been STOPPED COLD with a single battalion of Marines, and note that Clinton himself now calls this the biggest regret of his Presidency.

A generally good President, I agree, but those are the reasons why I cannot and will not rank him as the best of my lifetime.

I know what Ike did and he predicted the mess we have. Saint Ray Goon was the worst of the presidents since Ike and was the impetus for the downfall of America as it is today. I thoroughly expect the nation to be gone in 20 years. With luck I will die prior.

He was. He promised a 'kinder and gentler America', and for the most part, he really meant that, unlike his son, who promised to be a 'compassionate conservative'----now THAT turned out to be bullshit.

I did too, but as Leroy pointed out, the Iran/Contra mess leaves a bit of a stain.
