    I didn't miss your point.

Like I said in my response, I guess he could fire him if he wanted to... so I guess you have a point there.

But like I said, that kind of defeats the whole purpose of hiring a lawyer - who is someone you hire to form a legal strategy for you.

But that's not the point. It's his lawyer doing this. Not Jones. Clients typically don't over-rule the legal strategy of their lawyer. That sort of defeats the whole purpose of having a lawyer...
A variant of the 'only following orders' excuse? He could fire him, but he doesn't. That's kind of is the point. Silence is acceptance. Even not being a legal expert one can see that this is intimidation.

It's not a variant of anything.

It's just the lawyer's legal strategy. So absent any evidence or information that Jones is actually the one who put this this legal strategy togerher- I believe the fair thing to do is to blame the lawyer since according to the OP that's who is actually doing this.

As I said earlier, Clients typically don't over-rule the legal strategies of their lawyers. That defeats the purpose of hiring the lawyer in the first place.

I suspect this is a ploy by his lawyer to try and get the case dismissed by using this motion as a sort of legal blackmail.

No way! Any fool that has ever had a Lawyer knows good and well you have to have the Clients permission to move forward.

That is also why Trump trying to pretend he did not know about the payoffs to Porn Stars is laughable!

Has anyone pushing this Lawyer bit EVER had any business with an Attorney? Are they really that far out of touch with Reality?

I have had a lawyer... and no, he did not ask my permission on how to move forward with my legal defense.... lol

So yeah, someone is out of touch with reality. And how did I know you would find a way to bring Trump into this.

A decent client would never put grieving families through what Alex Jones is doing. Quit using the excuse his Lawyer is doing it.

Matter of fact the Attorney is sleazy, too!

So have I. Had a Conference with one this year. He gave advice, but did not do anything I did not agree to.

Except that it's not an excuse. According to the OP - that's who is actually doing it - his lawyer.

I seriously doubt Jones came up with this idea. I doubt he's that smart or knew the law well enough to even think this one up. This looks like the work of his lawyer to me - and again - according to the OP it is.

It is the lawyer's legal strategy, and by extension since he hasn't over-ruled said strategy, it is Jones' strategy as well. What you believe and what reality are, are two different things most the time. The lawyer is acting on behalf of Jones, so what he does has the approval of Jones. It's not as if the lawyer is doing this and Jones is somewhere in a corner pleading for him to not do it. What you said earlier doesn't matter either, as it isn't important as to what is happening. It doesn't matter what the usual behavior between a client-lawyer are, that's beside the point.
    Thanks from MaryAnne

Well mine certainly did not. He proceeded with his own legal strategy without asking my permission to do anything.

Look - you can rail at Jones because he doesn't fire his lawyer if you want. I'm just telling you - this is the work of his lawyer. Because i seriously doubt Jones is smart enough to come up with anything like this.
