Woman who rescued dogs mauled to death by the dogs she rescued

Georgia woman who rescued animals killed in dog attack | Fox News
Authorities said Carey, who worked with dogs since she was a young teenager, had five dogs living with her at the time of her death. They included a pit bull, which she had owned for six years, a boxer mix and a Presa, a large Spanish breed. She was also dogsitting another Presa for a friend.

Just a little Ironic. I wonder why they turned on her.

You may be on to something. Or limiting the size of the dogs or making people get permits to carry a dog.

There was a new dog to the mix, unless she had them separated they probably got pack mentality.

You would not catch me dog sitting one of these for a friend:

Sometimes people forget dogs are animals and it it ends up biting them in the ass.

I think it would be highly unlikely the dogs would just attack her. When I was heavily involved in rescue and foster I had 8 dogs at my house, mostly in the 60+ weight range.........this included a couple of lab mixes, a pitbull, a pitbull mix, a boxer mix, a german shepard, and a chow mix (not to mention the 13 cats & kittens). I never had any issues and was never worried, but I also knew never to get in the middle of a disagreement, which thankfully didn't happen often. I will admit, though, that I don't know much about Presas.

on edit: wiki info on Presas.

    Temperament

Presas are of strong character and are dominant animals requiring early socialization and obedience training.[6][7] In some situations, the Presa can be aggressive toward other dogs and suspicious of strangers.[8] Once the dog has been properly socialized and trained this becomes the exception rather than the rule. Many Presas share their homes with children, other dogs, cats, horses and other farm animals.[7]

Presas are an intelligent breed. Very responsive to an owner who is familiar with large breed, mastiff or mollosor dogs. Due to the natural strength and power of the breed, positive reinforcement is best when training Presa Canarios. During the first two years, the dog should be exercised/walked daily as it is trained to ensure proper bonding with its family and to develop excellent temperament. After two years, it is common that Presas who are not actively working or game dogs, can be very calm, lazy loveable beasts in the family home.

They read Atlas Shrugged, and found altruism to be a sign of weakness in the woman.
