Background check deal being worked out

Dem, GOP Senators Work on Background Check Deal

The deal would require background checks at all gunshows and for all internet sales.

I think its a good compromise.

It's completely ludicrous that a compromise is required in the first place. Universal background checks are consistently backed in polling by more than a supermajority of respondents... I've seen as high as 90 percent. We need to cut the balls off of the lobbyists in this country -- That kind of power, to make politicians fear their displeasure more than that kind of figure, is too readily abused and has been abused, over and over again, since Newtown.

well, clearly these 90% of America aren't making their voices heard.
they clearly don't care about the issue that much.

It's less that, and more just the fact that lobbyists are always in Washington; Politicians need only answer to the voters every two years.

I just do not understand the low down stupidity of the extremists who oppose background checks. These gebonees are so hung up thinking that background info will be used to create a hit list for Obama to come around and personnaly confiscate our guns- oh my !!!!

Professional dealers already have to do background checks at gun shows.
The so-called gun show loophole is when individuals sell to each other. Which could occur at a gun show, someone's house, a parking lot. The question is enforcement.
    Thanks from Cicero

Indeed. How do you enforce background checks on a sale, if you can't prove that the sale occurred (and ownership transferred)?

The fault lies with the senate.

They do not represent teir country, they represent their states.

Dumb mofo's like mitch mcconnell are to blame.

Democrat Reid sold out to the gun bunnies, too. He is from a pro gun state and he is more worried about getting reelected than he is in saving the lives of more school children.
    Thanks from Inkslinger
