After Benghazi, IRS tea party probe: Govt seized AP phone records

Seems like everyday that Obama's administration is becoming more and more facist. Yeah, I know he probably didn't personally order every little thing, but he sets the tone and agenda which enables organizations to take steps that are blatant violations of the law.

Why does his party put up with this crap? Is this the sort of government you want? One that violates people's rights constantly. I thought liberals were against this sort of thing. Hell, they accused Bush of it all the time. Apparently, when their party is doing it, it OK.

    The ends justify the means.

And is there anything that could have repudiated the President's speech at Ohio State last week faster than these three (so far) developments)?

Maybe if you guys didn't spend all your time trying to characterize him as a 60's revolutionary Marxist and Muslim sympathizer, we'd have found out some of this stuff sooner.

Benghazi's bullshit and always was, but the other two things were completely missed by Fox News because they weren't looking for him to do anything a Republicans would normally do.

Quite a week for this administration. Strangely, our erstwhile liberal bretheren seem preoccupied with other topics such as "saudi man arrested with pressure cooker." I suppose it's a matter of values and priorities. We can always worry about constitutional issues and seemingly out of control governmental agencies while the crowd that elected this administration into office in the first place can worry about issues important to themselves.

Let's see, misrepresenting a terrorist attack, possibly, to enhance reelection chances are just fine. Check. So.....how do you feel about using the irs to harass political opposition groups? Do you feel the doj should be allowed to go on "fishing expeditions" in order to find government whistleblowers is acceptable? It would be nice to know where you stand on these other issues. They're actually considered important to some of us if not the democratic party base.

OK, so now we're generaizing about "government tyranny".

I thought you all were preventing this simply by being armed to the teeth? I thought the press was having this big love affair with Obama?

I'm sure these Tea Party people were bitching endlessly to anyone who'd listen about the IRS thing, but not one report from Fox about this.

You would think Fox would have listen to them, but they didn't because it didn't fit their narrative. I'm sure the execs over there are wracking their brains trying to figure out how to link this to his "Kenyan anti-colonialism" philosophy.

In the meantime, Republican Saxby Chambliss was outraged over national security leaks.

Less than a half an hour after the death of Stevens is announced, Mitt Romney makes this statement:

I'm outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi. It's disgraceful that the Obama administration's first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.
What They Said, Before and After the Attack in Libya

Please spare me the outrage over the deaths being politicized.

I disagree strongly with these other two, but IMO you guys spending all your time barking up the wrong tree clutters everything with bullshit and the real problems go unaddressed as usual.

The only reason this is a big surprise to anyone is because YOU on the right are so obsessed with trying define Obama the way YOU want to define him that YOU created a huge distraction from the REAL problems.

On a side note - I'm not a fan of the Tea Party or it's lobbying groups. In fact I think all lobbying groups should be grilled the way the Tea Party was. That said, this shit's illegal and shouldn't have happened, But that's no different from my feeling that prison rape is wrong. Doesn't make me a fan of either the perps or the victims.

The AP thing - even more wrong. I'm not defending Obama on either of these, but seriously, I'm not patting the right wing on the back for having discovered the truth because they never sought it.

I'm concerned with what concerns me. What concerns me this week is; the administration changing the intelligence information on the terrorist attack at benghazi and using ambassador rice to spread what amounts to disinformation about the even, apparently, in order to ensure a political victory last november. Then there's the story about the irs improperly investigating conservative opposition groups. Then they, apparently, they shared some information about conservative groups with a liberal media organization called propublica (I don't know too much about this one but rest assured I will) and seizing the telephone records of some 20 phones used by some 100 ap reporters in an effort to identify some government leaks. And that's just this week!!

Now, if you approve of this regime engaging in these behaviors, ok. I get that. Wouldn't it be nice if you actually understood I don't. You and I do have differing views of the proper role of government. I get that too.
