FEMA denies aid to Texas for blast

APNewsBreak: FEMA denies aid to Texas for blast

The FEMA funds would have helped pay for public repairs such as roads, sewer lines, pipes and a school that were destroyed. It does not impact emergency funds FEMA has provided to individual residents.

That's what happens when you live in a state with a governor that doesn't agree with Obama .

No, it's what happens when righties oppose regulation and companies violate safety practices and the law. Btw, why SHOULD FEMA pay one cent to respond or rebuild to private sector malfeasance.

If they cared about the poor white folk in this Texas town, they would.

    But, they don't.

It has nothing to do with caring. It has everything to do with the fact that FEMA has no authority to respond to incidents arising from negligence and malfeasance by a private sector company. The recourse available to these people is through private litigation. The city and state can also levy fines.

Don't understand why all of the righties, who bitch and moan about government overreach can NOW whine when it doesn't happen. Seems to me that you WON on that issue, here. Enjoy your victory.

What's race got to do with anything? Everyone is Texas isn't white. What a stupid comment.

None of you have the right reason why this isn't happening.

"is not of the severity and magnitude that warrants a major disaster declaration."

It appear to be a policy decision, not about righty regulation, white people, poor people, or any of that partisan bullshit.

This town is however, going to go bankrupt all because of one plant that had nothing to do with the residents or community.

I saw that statement and pass it of as BS. The damage down to this town was at least equal to what occurred during the Moore, Oklahoma tornados. Whil enot a natural disaster, it was a disaster nonetheless.
