Bill Nye the science guy to debate Ken Hamm

Bill Nye is headed to Kentucky to debate Ken Hamm of the Creationism Museum.
The debate was asked for by Ken and Bill stipulated if travel expenses were paid he would show. The event is scheduled for February 4, 2014.
Bill Nye is a scientist who has warned that teaching creationism is bad for children.
Ken Hamm. Is the founder of the creation museum /Answers in Genisis.
The fortunes of Hamm have been slowly eroding due to low attendance so this may be his attempt to be relevant.
Bill has nothing to lose although I sincerely doubt it will be a honest debate. Probably Bill will give a factual speech with timeline and Ken will ignore that and speak of his opinion.
This is how debates go between such opposites.

It is sad that this even happens in 2013.

I think you mean 2014 but that's not the issue.
I think Hamm invited Nye because he is popular and famous. He wants the attention it will bring.
Hamms museum features reinactmants of the nativity and the crucifixion plus showing that humans and dinosaurs lived together in harmony.

Not really, although most of mainstream religions has found a way to incorporate evolution into creationism (its not really hard) there are still some, mostly older folks, who refuse to accept the doctrinal change. That group is shrinking but they are still there.

As for the debate, well it will probably end up as Loki thinks it will unless its very well structured and moderated, which I doubt it will be.

Neither of these guys are respected in their fields and are considered pretty much laughing stocks by most.

Nye is a fairly well-known idiot and Hamm has no credentials either in the scientific community or in the biblical community.

But they are well known so this will probably be just a little freak show with a lot of screaming trying to get press coverage to help both of their failing careers.

Bill Nye will have to be very patient. Rationalizing with Ken Ham is like talking to a wall.

That's a pretty nasty thing to say about someone. What makes you say that?

I'd rather find out why you hold this view of him. You made the claim that he is "an idiot". So I'd like you to please explain.

My sentiments, exactly. I think he is acting smarty and wants to make others feel stupid because they don't know what he does.
