Swearing toddler in Omaha police union video taken into protective custody

(CNN) -- A Nebraska toddler who repeated a slew of profanities in an online video has been taken into child protective custody, Omaha police said Wednesday.
While authorities found nothing criminal in the video, officials from the Omaha police's Child Victim Unit and the Nebraska Child Protective Services took the infant and three other children into custody on Wednesday, the police department said on its Facebook page.
The joint investigation found safety concerns, the statement said.
CNN learned of development through Twitter.
In the video, the diapered child is bombarded with obscenities and racial slurs by the adults around him.
The African-American toddler knocks down a chair and gives nearly as good as he gets, responding to some of the comments with an upraised middle finger and telling one of the adults at one point, "Shut up, bitch." The adults laugh and prompt him to repeat other crudities.
Just another day on the Internet -- until the police union in Omaha, Nebraska, posted the clip on its website to highlight what it called the "cycle of violence and thuggery" the community faces.

Very sad. Is it any wonder that some children grow up to be irresponsible and/or criminal as well?

I don't blame the child. It is his rotten parents who are to blame. They are obviously setting a very poor example for him.

I am sure he learned it from the same people he is repeating it to. I doubt he understands what he is saying.

It's terrible - and while the swearing is not (IMO) enough to warrant removing the child, it sounds like the home atmosphere contained elements that constituted adequate reason. And for that, I'm glad.

My kids are allowed to swear in our home, but they know there are limits. If my daughter realizes she spent the past 20 minutes doing her homework the wrong way, and says "Oh, shit!" ... That's fine. If my son drops and shatters his most recent LEGO creation and swears, that's okay too. However, if they swear at someone, then they know they'll be drawn and quartered. And honestly, I don't recall that ever happening. Apparently the threat is sufficient.

They also know that the rules in our house are not necessarily the same as those in the homes of their friends, or at school. Our kids know that if they curse in a friend's home, the parents may not want them playing with their kids. They also know that if they get in trouble for cursing at school, that we won't lift a finger to defend them. That actually happened once - my son was playing a dice game at school, got a bad roll, and said "Dammit!" - then turned pale because he knew he'd slipped. The teacher wisely just asked him to "Please be more careful," and let it go ... since my kid clearly knew he'd made a mistake.

I suppose the most memorable one was when I was playing multi-player Borderlands with him on the computers. He and I were working our way through a canyon, when a sniper started shooting down at us from an obscured vantage point. My son yells "God DAMMIT! Where the hell is he?!?!?" My wife in the next room warningly says "What did I just hear?" He replies "Nothing!" And about three seconds later "... and it was Daddy!"

Eight year-old kid threw me right under the bus...

Where's all the fucking liberals at with this news? Fucking shocking huh? They probably support the little thug and his parents, that's probably why they are so quiet.

I wonder if Obama see's this kid as his possible son, too, like he did with Treyvon Martin.

I'll tell you what they should do to the parents. They should move them to the most northern part of Greenland and make them suffer for the rest of their lives. As far as the kid....he'll be the next kid in school that teachers can't yell at because if they do, they will be labled as racist.

And America's concern is the cops in this story are racist because of how they labled the video when they shared it? I mean seriously, were they fucking lying? Nope. Then we wonder why this country is so fucked up...
