It's always been the contention of those against raising the minimum wage that it would increase prices. Then why do prices continue to rise? Corporate greed, that's why.
    It's about time.

You raise minimum wage, and I find ways to automate processes or outsource. I'm not increasing my labor budget. It's a choice that businesses face.

Do you really think people at minimum wage can sit and discuss their wages with employers who know they are desperate? What compassion

Actually I do believe that people who fight against the minimum wage for the poorest Americans are quite deplorable

I seriously doubt those making the minimum "agree" that is what they should be paid.
Isn't it fascinating how the deplorable's will fight tooth and nail against the poor getting a raise and will also fight tooth and nail for billionaires to get tax cuts. So sad

Go ahead and automate already. What's stopping you? 19 states where the people have voted disagree with you. By 2020 Washington's minimum wage will be $15.00 an hour. That should give you enough time.

What is stopping me? It's called ROI, return on investment. Right now, it's less expensive to use people. However, if you significantly raise minimum wage to something like $15 per hour, it takes less time to recoup the money spent on new machinery. Which means, when you raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour in this area, there will be less people working for it.

They think it's okay to put low, low limits on what someone at the bottom can make but on the other end it's okay for CEO's to have no limits on what they can make.

    They really are deplorable.

People are paid what they are worth. If there are a line of people waiting for the job, obviously it pays less.

We need more jobs - good quality jobs that force industry to pay more, compete for workers.

When you have that you get an automatic wage increase for competent workers.

Working minimum wage is for kids and old people. Adults working at minimum wage are essentially the flotsam of the workforce that no one wants.
15 million workers earn less than 10 bucks an hour. None of them are making a living.

Despite Walmart's wage hike, 15 million workers are still stuck with low pay - Feb. 23, 2015
