Same here! In fact, Outback often irritates me because it is hard to find a place to sit.

Reminds me of Yogi Berra turning down an invitation to a restaurant in Manhattan by saying, "Oh, no one goes there any more; it's too crowded!"

Outback is shuttering a bunch of locations this year. Also Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse went under.

He's not doing it to hurt the restaurant chains but rather to warn consumers that buying their gift cards may not be a good idea right now. These restaurants employ many people across this nation. If he's right and several of these close some stores or all stores, that will be a significant number of people that are looking for work. Oddly, he names one chain that is doing well, Olive Garden. What are they doing better?

8 of America's favorite restaurant chains are desperate for customers

    Applebees
    Chilis
    Ruby Tuesday
    Red Robin
    Buffalo Wild Wings
    Outback
    Carrabbas
    Bonefish Grill
Never ate at any of those. A few I haven't even heard of.

You should blame Obama, or liberals in general.

Funny how the restaurants serving the "backbone" of this country with mediocre to disgusting, unhealthy food in a 'get your weekly family dinner out' setting for low and low middle incomes are not striving like crazy under the idiot in chief.. he's bringing back all these jobs, puts all that money in the pockets of the key clientele for those chains... it's a mystery !!

President Trump hasn't been in office long enough to have any impact upon this data.

They all have to compete with the little hole in the wall family run restaurants where prices are lower and food is better. Around here, that means mostly Mexican, some Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, and Chinese.

    See? The problem is immigrants.....

It's always interesting to see free market capitalists whine when free market capitalism is at play. Maybe, as people constantly hear from those who advocate for unbridled free market capitalism, those fast food companies need to do something to get people into their places of business. Or they could do the popular (unbridled capitalist) thing nowadays and merge into even larger companies.....then tell America how good "competition" is for the consumer.

All of these places serve frozen food, people are getting more hip to it and realizing that Stouffers is just as good. (or just as bad...)

The theory of evolution. Adapt or die out.

Perhaps management is "neglecting" to pay attention to what customers want.
