Yeaah but the new Beetle is front engine watercooled so it isnt really a Bug anymore.

Plus theres the optics to consider.. I'm 6'5" so I'd look like a clown coming out of a Beetle

That's a nice car definitely but I'm more of the low & slow crowd, I'd kill someone's pet to get an mk1 scirocco

I'm 6'3". There's plenty of room. You'd be surprised. Go check one out. I bet you walk out with it.

Just remember, the only one you want is the 2.0 turbo R-Line. Pricey, but worth every penny.

It's not fair to make a car like that and then tell us we can't have one.

I take it, you didn't take the buy back offer?

That only applies to diesel models. The other models were not affected by the scandal.

And I second what he said. I used to own Chryslers and Fords. OK cars, but bought a VW and will never go back.

I owned one GM that was such a turd pile of a car that I will never even consider another.

Because the recall destroyed the power output of the engine, people weren't happy with the "fix".

They won't even have a "fix" for my model - because is was 09 - first year. My hubby has a 2015 Passat TDI - so he will go with the "fix".

But he is also getting money for his troubles - between the two of us it should be around 30K (not bad at all). And yes my current model has 2.0 turbo but a Beetle is to small for my needs so I hopefully will like the 1.8 turbo power enough to stick with another VW. It's been a great car. So much fun to drive and have has zero issues with it. I was planning on keeping it for another 3 years but hey, guess I will get a new one 1 year sooner than I thought.
