That's an interesting auestion, among thousands more. Bezos claims we will all have 2 hour deliveries.

And smart people seem to believe that's doable.

    Personally, I find this terrifying.

    Great thread once again, Madeline.

That is how it's been throughout history. When the sheep are not fed enough they storm the castle to slaughter their overlord. Every empire makes the same mistakes that cause the people to revolt. FDRs New Deal was the 20th century Magna Carta. The world is ready to fight for our charter of liberties to be renewed.

The people of the world are demanding justice right when Wall Street is getting ready to demand another bailout. The perfect storm is about to hit, after that we'll check in to see how Bezos is doing.

Government's "plunge protection team" is the only thing propping up the current market rally, it has again been recently seen intervening in the market to keep stocks at record highs. I don't want to be in the market because I don't know when the plug is going to get pulled.

To my knowledge, Bezos has never spoken on what he thinks the government should do to aid displaced workers. He seems to think only of how to make consumers' lives better.

I guess he thinks consuming at current levels is somehow just going to magically appear.

No idea yet but I am sure they will make it manageable.

They are a business after all.

    You're very trusting. I'm not.

I'll stick with UPS, Fed-Ex and the USPS.

Well like most people, if they don't I won't use them.

See, that is how a free market works.

I'm quick to admit the post office does a good job. I didn't say that they didn't. Read it again.

I can get anything off Amazon I want, using Prime -- which also offers me the best steaming channel on Roku. Even has a great selection of its own, original programming.

For $12/mo, and even less, if I pay 12 mos. in advance.

Bezos has said he doesn't see that price going up even as Amazon moves from 2 day to 2 hour delivery.....but the notion baffles me. How could that be?

And yet, once again, smart people seem to agree he can sustain those shipping rates.

I can literally buy an entire kitchen appliance set off Amazon and pay NOTHING above my $12/mo. rate to have them delivered TODAY. I can't even begin to imagine how he's accomplishing THAT.

I get deliveries now on Sundays, holidays, etc. as a matter of routine, and this stuff is NOT coming UPS or USPS. It has no shipping labels on the boxes at all.
