I've come to the realization that the main difference between conservatives and liberals is that liberals want the government to do more to help people and conservatives want the government to focus only on punishing people.
    Primarily poor people and POC.

You're right. It should be addressed. The LifeLine program you describe has been around since 1985, so I'm not sure why you mention Obama in the OP, rather than Reagan. Even the cellphone aspect of LifeLine started before Obama's inauguration.

But more to the point, it is managed by the FCC.

However, streamlining the Lifeline program will take resources, and Republican President Donald Trump has proposed reducing the FCC budget in order to provide more money for our military.

Free Wi-Fi? Really? You do know that free just means paid for by someone else. Who would pick up the tab for your free Wi-Fi?

The shaming of the poor continues, the party of Jeebus is certain, the poor and meek shall not inherit the earth or anything else for that matter. Praise the Lord and pass the popcorn.

Like all social programs, the taxpayers, of course. Taxes are the price we pay for a civilized society, sorry you hate supporting that.

Have you ever tried job hunting without an internet connection these days? It's nearly impossible. And not everyone has the means to drive to a library for public access.

Well hell, not everyone can drive to the grocery store, should we make food and delivery of it free? Not everyone can lick a stamp, should we make electricity free? You know it is hard to surf the web without electricity... What is the next freebie that we can expect to see the Democrats on board with giving away... Isn't Other People's Money a wonderful thing?

Food is more readily available to people than internet access. And yes - there are free food delivery programs for the poor and infirm, and electricity subsidies. I thought you'd be on-board with benefits that push people in the direction of employment.
    Thanks from Blueneck
