But I'll take a food replicator from the Star Trek Enterprise Next Gen thing. Fucking sweet.

    Probably bad for her health.

But then, their medical technology was ALSO a lot more advanced than ours....
If they had a device like that...

... I'd be replicating out Deanna Trois, skip the sundae!

    Thx

I think people care a lot. I think the concerns about children's developing social skills, their reported alienation from parents who pay less attention to them than their phones, and similar problems that are arising point to this.

Human beings are social animals. My experience with autism shows me that we have a deeply instinctual, complex set of social behaviors that neurotypical humans deeply need from each other. In fact, if you could give a person very high intelligence with inadequate social skills or ordinary intelligence with very good social skills, anyone with a rounded understanding of human beings would choose the latter--they'll take you farther.

Actually, the food printed out will probably be soy bean based... just bean curd of different textures with added flavors and a few nutrients...

And you could have all different colors, red, yellow, green...

    Thx

Marina Sirtis....who played Deanna Troi.....is really a TERRIBLE actress.

And I thought Dr. Beverly Crusher was HOTTER than Deanna Troi. Why, I'd bend Dr. Crusher over and.........

But here who was even HOTTER: the female Vulcan science officer on Star Trek: Enterprise. WHOA!!

You come up with some awesome replicator fantasy and *FOOM* some guy comes along and shoots it all to hell!

I wasn't going to replicate her for her acting prowess...

    Thx

I agree with what you say but I have read studies that claim young teens today go out socially far less than we did as kids. We "hung out" a lot for social friendship and such. Todays youth prefer YouTube, Snapchat or whatever. Its still social chat but not in person. Also saw where Japanese students prefer animated friends to real ones. Not sure how much weight I would give any of these studies but times are a changing. Kids don't even learn to drive anymore so that assumes they stay home more. I hated being home but nowadays with the internet and Netflix, its not so bad. It will be interesting to see the social changes with humans over time.

I'd replicate three copies of that Vulcan science officer and 'do' all three of them at once.

    You guys are fucking idiots.

What you're looking for is the holodeck, not the replicator.

    Geez.

Fine, fine, but if you're going to use the holodeck, you wouldn't be able to take her OUT of the holodeck. OTOH, if you REPLICATED that Vulcan science officer, you could take her with you WHEREVER you go!
