Expand your mind a little. Try this: https://newsonia.com/report/how-half...ts-fking-mind/. I would have linked the original source of the article (cracked.com) but their website blows and won't let you read the whole thing. Seriously, read it.

And then they condescend to the state for being unable to support itself economically, which is a hostility that has no other real explanation than the state's tendency to vote Republican in presidential elections.
Resources need to managed. Nobody wants to see W. Virginia blow off it's mountain tops so we can have cheap coal. And no one wants to see Alaska drill itself to death because oil prices are so low. It's collusion between crooked politicians and the business interests who own them that tells you there's no other choices. Don't fall for it.

Altogether shutting down industry isn't "management."

There's no risk of that. Low oil prices make production financially nonviable.

What are you even saying, really? You just advised that Alaska "diversify its economy," and have since been ducking the fact that the Federal Government is extremely obstructive to that advice.

I am not a huge Murkowski fan, she is very tolerant of certain things I find intolerable, but listen to her explain it. She is not wrong.

Thank you for sharing that video clip of Senator Murkowski. Her views of the state are revealing. In essence, she believes that the land, sea, water, animals and resources of a state should be used solely for the benefit of the people of that state. It sounds reasonable on the face of it. Why should any state lose the capacity to fully exploit and develop itself without consideration to any other interests? This is exactly the type of mentality that created the modern state of Texas. The entire state is privately owned with a few small exceptions. There are no buffalo there anymore, no wolves, no bears, no large Comanche reservations, no real national parks (Big Bend is the only exception), no national forests, no public lands to speak of at all, it is one giant piece of private property. Now we are not really losing much here because Texas itself is pretty boring, not much there to crow about anyway. But Alaska is a different story. It has the last truly wild forests and preserves left in our country. It is gorgeous, unspoiled, virgin and primordial and that is exactly the way I want it to stay for the rest of time. She may not like it, the people of Alaska may not like it but they will just have to take the hand they were dealt and make the most of it. Or leave.

    No she doesn't.

    What's with the all-or-nothing bullshit?

Wow, sounds like you know a lot about Alaska!

and that is exactly the way I want it to stay for the rest of time.
Then argue with Blueneck who suggested we "diversify our economy." You want to kill the state economy to preserve your daydreams about it, she says diversify the economy. Who's right? I'll leave up to you guys to figure that one out. Good luck.

The arrogance of comments like this astounds me.
