And the wage increases and bonuses are taxed. You might applaud that as increasing revenue, but I think it's shameful that our country treats people who work for a living as feed bag to subsidize the investor class.

Me, too. Well, the good news is, one way or another, it won't last much longer. Either the Elizabeth Warrens of the world gain traction and we clean up some of these broken institutions, or it'll all just fall apart on its own anyway.
    Thanks from Blueneck

sales tax are.. but that's it. If the company has their international "headquarters" in Ireland, they move their non-US "profits" to the Ireland entity.. and if they want the money in the US, the Trumps will generously allow them to do so at 10.5% corporate tax.

I can't believe you didn't get this concept over all the past years.. and STILL not today. But you can't stop yourself from commenting on those topics all the time.

    Ignorance is bliss, I guess?

Also, ignorance is authoritative knowledge and wisdom, evidently.

Isn't that better than leaving the cash parked in Ireland and not collecting any taxes?

Corporations who want to take advantage of our powerful economy, to do business in this stable, secure, vibrant economy with its middle class, do not want to pay the taxes to do business here, so they just don't. They pretend their profits aren't profits, and they take their money out of the country, and we let them, and they pay no taxes on dollars they have pulled out of our economy and taken overseas.

And this is okay with some people.

No, it's not. You know that the bottom 45% plus aren't paying any federal income taxes. They'll pay some social security and medicaid but they aren't paying federal income tax.

Actually, Apple moved their money to Jersey (and I don't mean New Jersey a while back.)

Thanks for the insults coming from someone like you, I'll consider it a badge of honor. I mean, if you actually knew anything other than what the other liberals were gossiping about, then maybe you would be worth having a conversation with but this post shows you aren't worth the effort to time.

All is not gloom and doom, no matter what some members want to believe.

Japanese automakers Toyota and Mazda on Wednesday announced plans to build a $1.6 Billion joint-venture plant in Alabama that eventually will employ about 4,000 people.

Several states had competed for the coveted project, which will be able to turn out 300,000 vehicles per years and will produce the Toyota Corolla compact car for North America and a new small SUV from Mazda.

To entice manufacturers, Southern states have used a combination of lucrative incentive packages, low cost labor, and a pro business labor environment since the United Auto Workers union is stronger in Northern states.
