Season's retail gains best in years

"Finally some good news for the nations retailers: Americans spent more than expected this Christmas season."

"Holiday sales rose to $691.9 Billion in November and December, marking a 5.5% increase from the year before, according to the National Retail Federation."

Forecast was for a 3.6 to 4% increase.

    Thanks Santa!

Do you think that it has to do with Amazon and Groupon in all these online places? I know I bought stuff that I probably would not have bough if I had to go out and buy them and most of my friends are saying the same thing
I really donít like shopping but every day there seems to be another package from Amazon. I feel like every day is my birthday because I donít remember what I ordered because I am ordering so much.
The other day I noticed my lipstick was low so in two seconds I ordered it from Amazon and it will be delivered Monday

I hope you have a particular color in mind. After years and a Medicine Cabinet full of Cosmetics I found a lip stick I really like at the Dollar Tree. I know the enourmous profit on that stuff.

Now,if I could match my Chanel Number 5 I would have it made. I can get it much cheaper in Retail.

Lipstick sales could have helped pushed the numbers over the top.

Yep, that coulda done it. (sarcasm alert)

Bottom line: it was a very good retail season, better than expected, and it was both in store and online, Amazon and Wal Mart, and all the others.

A better than expected retail season is a good sign for the economy.

And a good sign for America.

Yes, everyone spent more at Christmas than they could afford because Trump just cheered up the country so much!

I bought nothing for anyone for Christmas. Didn't even send a card.

    Fuck Christmas.

    Fuck Trump.

You sound like my husband.. He loves Amazon and the mystery packages arrive everyday. Online shopping with deep discount stores has been a game changer in retail. I love shopping...I am not as bad as I used to be when younger, but I still like retail therapy. My problem, I am a clothes addict and skin care products, especially for the face. My sister said I would get over the wrinkle creams once I invested a ton of cash into them. LOL
