    Casino jobs coming back

Thousands of lost Atlantic City casino jobs are coming back!

Great news for America and American workers.

Bad news for some people, of course.

God, please tell me that’s not from corporate wage workers going with their new $1,000 bonuses.

I suppose it is good news for some of the 1600 folks who lost their jobs after Trump ran his casino into the ground. Now it appears someone else is taking over, and hiring some of the folks back.

Gambling is a bad vice is what my elders instilled in me as a youngen. We weren’t even allowed to have a deck of cards in the house.

Strange that gambling has now become so popular and accepted in the USA.

And down right pitiful to watch so many lose their money.

I have been to LV twice and a few Casinos with tours. Saddest thing I have ever seen to see so many addicted people lose so much. Especially the elderly.

It is fine if you understand how much you are willing to lose, spend a few hours playing, but by the time I spent 5 days in LV I never wanted to see that place again!

Casinos are notorious for terrible odds and they have a variety of ways to deny you your winnings.

"The New York State Gaming Commission said that Bookman's machine had malfunctioned. The machine, like all the ones in the casino, has a disclaimer stating, "Malfunctions void all pays and plays."

Instead, the casino offered Bookman a complimentary steak dinner.

"All I could think about was my family," Bookman told WABC, her voice breaking. She grew up in foster care and raised 4 children as a single mother.

Katrina Bookman and a slot machine screen displaying what she thought were her winnings.

The New York State Gaming Commission told WABC that they immediately pulled the machine from the casino floor to fix it, and it is now up and running once again. The commission said that by law they can only award Bookman her actual winnings of $2.25, printed by the machine.

"They win, and now the house doesn't want to pay out. To me that's unfair," says Bookman's attorney, Alan Ripka. He's fighting for the casino to pay Bookman the maximum amount allowed by the Sphinx slot machine -- $6,500.

"The machine takes the money when you lose. It ought to pay it when you win," Ripka said."

And those casinos are SO phony baloney, they start out with big smiles, "Welcome, welcome to our establishment! If there's anything you need, just let us know!"

"Well, actually I just came in to use the bathroom, can you point me the way?"

"SECURITY, throw this fucking bum out of here!"

I wouldn't give those folks anything but my contempt.

    Thx

I have pretty much the same feeling about gambling that youse guys are expressing.

It is a vice that I can do without.

But it's here and its legal and if it provides jobs for American workers, that's a good thing.

The marijuana industry is here and is legal (some is) too, and if it provides decent jobs for Americans that's a good thing, too.

Does that mean that the casinos Trump ran into bankruptcy in Atlantic City might be coming back and hiring people?
