Biggest waste in history. So stupid. The emissions damage is minuscule.

The lot at the Southern California Logistics Airport is one of 37 across the country. (Reuters)

A recent court filing revealed that Volkswagen had resold 13,000 and destroyed about 28,000 vehicles by the end of 2017, but still had 294,000 vehicles in storage at that time.
The automaker has until the end of 2019 to complete the buyback program.
How much CO2 was generated to build these cars that now will likely be destroyed or rot away?
    Thanks from Robert Urbanek

VW should have thought about that before they cheated on their ECU software in order to pass emissions tests.

Should we all clap our hands so that your wish can magically change the sales numbers that are being reported by the automobile manufacturers?

I can agree with that, but still and all couldnt they donate the vehicles? It seems a waste to destroy perfectly good vehicles.

Have they been destroyed? Looks to me like they're merely being stored. I don't know what they intend to do with them.

What would you have them do instead?

Twice a year? That's awesome. I maybe had to do that like 8 times a years because I got really good mileage as well.

    Why did you... "have to"?

A lot of resources, carbon products consumed, battery's , rubber, motor oil all gone to waste. Just fine VW. What was the emission difference involved? Stupid beyond belief.
