    Troubles for Tesla

More troubles reported for Tesla and it's the Model 3.

Long emergency stopping distances, difficult to use controls, and a harsh ride stopped the Model 3 from getting a recommended buy from Consumer Reports.

The magazine said the car has exhilarating acceleration and handling, but it's stopping distance was worse than any modern car it has tested.

The Ford F-150 weighs about twice as much and stops seven feet shorter from 60 mph.

All the Model 3's controls are on a center touch screen with no gauges on the dashboard and few buttons inside the car. This forces drivers to take several steps to do simple tasks, and can cause driver distraction.

Car and Driver magazine also reported inconsistent and sometimes long stopping distances when it tested the Model 3.

And the Model 3 was going to be the car that saves the company...

Sounds like they might be attempting to capture too much decel energy, rather than simply applying the brakes. If so, that's merely a firmware upgrade.

Tesla needs to tweak those brakes.. Going fast is cool, but stopping is vital.

Not a good sign when Consumer Reports and Car and Driver both report bad news.

Wonder who'd be their recommended vendor?

They've had production problems with this model as well. These things happen sometimes. It's a relatively young company.

And, I think they've already sold lots of pre-orders...

It is but scaling to the size of GM, Toyota, VW is not easy and when your market cap = $GM well, then you'll eventually have to back that up!
