Vermont Will Pay You Up To $10,000 To Move There And Work Remotely

Depending on your region and the industry, finding a workforce can be tough. For a number of years we've had a shortage of agricultural workers here, to the point that some crops have been left to rot under the trees or be plowed back into the soil. Vermont has an aging population and is trying to lure workers in with $10,000 bonuses.

Calling all remote workers: Vermont has a deal for you.

The state has a new law that will pay workers to move there and work remotely. Governor Phil Scott*signed the legislation on Wednesday.

Eligible workers can get up to $5,000 a year, not to exceed $10,000 over two years, through the state's new remote worker grant program.

Beautiful state for sure but seriously the middle of nowhere. My brother has lived there for almost 30 years now and he still will travel 3 hours to do serious shopping!

That should be their state slogan. A land with no "serious shopping" sounds like Paradise to me.

Whats really bad too is where my brother lives they still had dial up internet until about 3 years ago so that sucked for online shopping too!!! His neighbor down the road still has one of those giant satellite dishes in his side yard. Looks like a Norad station. lol My kids are always "whats that???"

Ok... Yeah, I'd need high speed internet.

Yes but all that maple syrup causes a lot of buffering.

It's not really much when you consider the cost of moving there, unless you are already fairly close.

I think they should at least throw in a grove of maple trees, just to sweeten the deal.

Its relatively cheap to live there so I suppose if someone is renting somewhere for 2K a month and they could do their job remotely, its not a bad idea.
