Less human contact, but also less cost for the company.
    I saw them go away.

We instituted a minimum wage after the Great Depression because it had become obvious that market forces don't work for keeping wage rates equal to inflation.

It was attitudes like yours that caused the Great Depression to begin with.
What I suggest is you set up a large company and employ thousands upon thousands. Them simply pay everyone double the minimum wage. When reality kicks in and you've gone bust, see if your old boss will give you your job back.

Wow. There are LOTS of large companies that pay everyone MORE than double the minimum wage. Most often, they are high-tech companies, like Google, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Intel, etc. You think folks that work at those places are making minimum wage?!??

The slaves would always be stealing the food, because they'd be hungry. So you'd have to hire some slave overseers, who would have to whip the slaves whenever they caught them stealing the food. And the slave overseers would want to be paid some pretty good money because, let's face it, whipping people is some pretty gruesome work. Going home at night after spending your day whipping people for eight hours non-stop would take a mental and emotional toll on people. You'd probably have to hire some psychologists and psychiatrists for the slave overseers. This could be getting expensive at this point!

In fact they have an APP that lets you order before you arrive and you can pick it up when you arrive so you dont even wait in line to use the kiosk. My issue is if you want to order something special, its nearly impossible.
That and I think it's unfair to elderly people.

Get rid of the wait staff altogether, alert me (via the kiosk) when my order is ready, and I'll carry my own damned order to my table and keep the tip.
I refuse to use those. The server still takes my order. I will pay with it. I am using a card and that is more secure. I'd rather not hand mine over to a server.

I don't have a boss -- aside from my wife.

My concerns regarding minimum wage don't really apply to me nor to my employees.

Me too. It's much nicer (to me) to tell the server my order, which sometimes involves questions. And I usually do not order things exactly the way they display on the menu. At Chili's, I'd like a side salad as one of my two sides, which rasies the price by a $1, which is fine, but I found this out from a server, not the menu. Ordering by kiosk, I'd never even know that option.

I also do not want gravy, which they would normally put on automatically, and which domestic light beer I want depends on which is coldest. They all taste the same to me, but I don't want one that they just stocked and isn't ice cold yet. How do I tell the kiosk all that? How would Sally in When Harry Met Sally order there? *shocked face*

They no longer serve the blind? I think the ADA might have issues with such a policy.

They have braille for blind customers and have a computer voice if the button is pushed. Like an ATM. Also has photos and voice if one cant read.
