Buick sells well in China, besides the Volvo is electric! which appeals to younger drivers, but still at best a niche market here it seems to me.

It's why unions should think and act globally, like corporations do.

Volvo is hardly the only company with long-term plans to go to all electric vehicles. The future is approaching, and we can't simply wish it away.

Well yeah, asian electric cars will outsell Volvos if the demand for electric cars goes up, nothing wish about it.

Once again, for emphasis: Volvo is a Chinese company. China is an Asian nation.

A Chinese owned electric Volvo made in the USA is unlikely to compete successfully with electric cars made in Asia but feel free to buy a lot of stock in Volvo if you wish.

Volvo doesn't make cars in the US, yet -- although they are in the process of opening a manufacturing facility in South Carolina.

Yup. The question is will they be successful. Seems doubtful to me but maybe tariffs will help.

I don't know why you think that Volvo won't continue to have success as an automobile manufacturer.

As for electric cars, that's what all of the major manufacturers are moving toward.
