    Many decades, at least.

Flux capacitors will be replacing electrics before all petroleum powered cars are off the road.

That's what Luddites used to tell Henry Ford about horses and buggies.

There are still 100 year old steam powered vehicles on the road, thanks to collectors like Jay Leno.

Somebody will still be driving them on the road another hundred years from now.

    Petro vehicles, too...

"Somebody" might, but within 15 or 20 years, few will. I still see horses and buggies in parades now and then.

I don't understand this trolling of Elon Musk. Is he a Democrat, or are trolls simply jealous of him because he's successful?

Because his company is going broke.

Actually, the quote I replied to said "when every car on the road is electric".

    That won't happen EVER.

Not having yet turned a profit does not equal "going broke". You could have said the same thing about Apple, Microsoft, Google, Facebook or Amazon when they were start-ups.

Trollers will troll without any valid reason, I suppose. It happens here on a daily basis.

I look forward to buying my first electric vehicle.

It may even be a Tesla.

But it gonna be a long time before it makes economic and practical sense.

    Cost, range, and charging time.

Until then, I will enjoy hybrids.

Tesla automotive has lost money 15 years in a row, it could be gone tomorrow, and you would have to go to a museum to see one in the future.

Maybe that would make them a value, you own one?

No, I don't own one. Nor do I own stock in the company. I really couldn't care less, personally, whether they thrive or fail.

Me neither, on a personal basis.

As an American, I would like to see this American company succeed.

Electric cars are here to stay.

If Tesla fails, another company will be the industry leader.
