Why do the freeloading Georgia farmers get over 8 billion when the freeloading farmers of my state only get over 5 billion?
    Thanks from Blueneck

We're mostly orchards and wheat... must be second class crops.

Click on a state, then mouse over a county to see total farm subsidies from 1995 to present.

In my county in Ohio it was 45 million. That's a lot of money considering it's only 86,000 people and 1200 farms.

Average per farm receiving payments is $4283.
What a piker. California got 11.9 billion. Interestingly, the more lucrative crops like almonds, pistachios, and grapes, aren't listed at all. Looks like it's the less lucrative crops that got the federal bucks.

and those north western counties apparently didn't get a cent. Their main crop is the most lucrative of all: pot.
    Thanks from Blueneck and Panzareta
