    Farm To School Program

Inspired by recent discussion in another thread. There's a lot of whining about school lunches lately. The truth is though that there are some great options out there. Our school district got involved out here about four years ago with the Farm to School program that is somewhat catching on nationwide. The food is real good and as much of it as possible is locally sourced. My kids like it anyway.

Maybe some of the complainers should look into getting involved in this or a similar program. It's a little work to get it set up and going but it really pays off for the kids. I know it's a lot easier to sit back and whine that all your problems are Michelle Obama's fault, so if that's what floats your boat, that's okay too.

This looks like something we call "solutions" ...we dont do solutions, we only do complaining!

This is a true solution because it can save money, is better for nutrition, is better for teaching nutrition via example and practice in schools, is better for the environment and the sort of infrastructure we should encourage (as much local sourcing as is possible).

Uhh, it's a lot of work, but yes, it's a good program. I have no problem with it.
