I'm a teacher. I'm a child of divorce. I was abused as a child. I've worked with some very traumatized children. There is very little you can tell me I haven't already experienced.

no, sorry, they are not. They are fun toys and distractions, but they are not real life. Living your life on line...is just that...living your live on line. Again... not real life. Real life is where you learn how to deal with the list of emotional issues listed in the op.

At some point... parents need to parent. It is not the schools or teachers responsibility to raise up other peoples kids.

I am very sorry to hear what you have been through.
I can relate, as I have been through physical and emotional abuse as a child, as well as being a child of divorce.

I bet you are a awesome teacher....your students are lucky to have you. It never ceases to amaze me how some people can mistreat our most vulnerable. Children are helpless.

I'm sure somewhere someone said the very same thing about cars, telephones, and movies. Look, computers and cell phones are merely tools used by folks young and old. like any tool they can be used properly or not.

Parents do need to parent. Some are doing a fantastic job of it. Some, I'd like to take out back. Good luck to all of us.
Thanks from Ian Jeffrey and steezer

Incredibly sad, but in many cases that I promise you I can attest to as well, so, so true.

Maybe save that for an AFTER school special.

Students need to be taught Math, Reading, Writing, History and Science, while in school.

i dunno. I believe my children deserve better than me. If I were a truly honest man I'd give back my first five years wages. Still, I'm grateful every day I go to work. I'm in awe of and humbled by the children I've had the privilege of working with.

Actually the get that and what the op called for. The social aspects are just dealt with in a slightly different manner than some would think.
